1. John Cena’s Plans for WrestleMania 36
John Cena hasn’t wrestled a match on a single pay-per-view in 2019 as he has been busy with his movie projects and other commitments. His last WrestleMania appearance was earlier this year where he reprised his Dr. Thuganomics gimmick to encounter Elias in a mostly non-wrestling capacity.
According to WrestleVotes, Cena wants to do “something substantial” at WrestleMania 36 that is “more than just an appearance.”
Considering the fact that Cena lives in Tampa, Florida, where WrestleMania 36 is being held, it is highly possible that the 16-time world champion could have a significant role to play at the show.
2. WWE Wants To Prevent Ric Flair From Signing With AEW
It’s been recently reported that Ric Flair’s WWE contract is set to end by the end of the year and he will be a free agent going into 2020. Flair said that he was cleared for in-ring action ahead of Crown Jewel PPV but WWE nixed the plan he was supposed to have with Hulk Hogan.
It is a known fact that Flair is good friends with AEW President Tony Khan and signing up with AEW will open up new business opportunities for both him and AEW. WWE would definitely want to prevent that from happening as they want do not want to attach any other promotion’s names to Flair.
The situation is more complicated because Flair has been involved in a dispute with WWE over its use of “The Man” to promote current Raw women’s champion, Becky Lynch. Infamous for his dirty tactics inside the ring, we are yet to see what tactics would Flair use in real life.
