Three More Matches Set to Be Added to TLC: Tables, Ladders, and Chairs
The final WWE pay-per-view of 2020 takes place in just over two weeks’ time and WWE has already announced several matches for the show.
Asuka and Lana will team up to challenge Women’s Tag Team Champions Shayna Baszler and Nia Jax while Randy Orton takes on The Fiend.
Several more matches are likely to be announced including The Street Profits vs Dolph Ziggler and Robert Roode, Sami Zayn vs Big E, and Bobby Lashley.
Recent COVID-19 Positive Case Wasn’t Revealed Publicly
It was recently reported by The Wrestling Observer that NXT had been handed a huge blow ahead of War Games since another NXT star had tested positive for COVID-19.
The identity of the star wasn’t released publicly and it was believed that it wouldn’t affect War Games on Sunday night. The COVID result was leaked before NXT this past week and WWE hasn’t changed up the card for War Games which means that it was a superstar that wasn’t scheduled to be part of the show.
The star in question reportedly is set to be kept secret. In the past, positive results have only been revealed by the superstars themselves and not the company.
WWE Rejected Undertaker vs Sting Match
WWE Hall of Famer Sting recently made his debut for AEW but it appears that before The Icon made his switch over to WWE’s competition, Sting was interested in having a cinematic match against The Undertaker.
The Wrestling Observer reports that for whatever reason, Vince McMahon wasn’t prepared to make this match a reality.
“Still it is known Sting wanted to do a Cinematic match with Undertaker, and for whatever reason, while fans have clamored for Undertaker vs. Sting for years, it has never been a match that appealed to McMahon.”
Roman Reigns and Kevin Owens Getting Positive Reviews Backstage
Kevin Owens has been pushed into the Universal Championship picture heading into TLC in a few week’s time and the former Champion has reportedly been receiving positive reviews for his work.
According to Fightful Select, Owens rose to the occasion on last week’s episode of SmackDown and many of the stars backstage were pleased to see Kevin Owens match Roman Reigns when it came to promo level.
The two men will now collide in a Tables, Ladders and Chairs match on December 20th.
Update on Jaxson Ryker Following The Forgotten Sons’ Return to SmackDown
Last night on SmackDown, Wesley Blake and Steve Cutler debuted in a new role alongside King Corbin in his feud against The Mysterio Family.
The two stars had been away from TV since May when Jaxson Ryker shared a controversial Tweet supporting Donald Trump. Despite the two stars re-debuting on SmackDown, Ryker wasn’t alongside them and according to Fightful Select, there is still some heat on the star.
The site noted that he has not been brought in for TV tapings in a number of months and there was a point when he wasn’t included in internal roster sheets. One source also told the site that it “wasn’t worth the risk of bad publicity of being on TV.”
Original Plan for Chelsea Green’s WWE Main Roster Debut
Chelsea Green recently made her main roster debut on SmackDown, but this ended in disaster when the former NXT star suffered a broken arm.
Back in 2005 when Mickie James made her WWE debut, she was seen as an obsessed fan of Women’s Champion Trish Stratus. This was set to be the pretense of a storyline between James and Green and WWE had already filmed several segments for the story but decided to cancel the storyline just hours before SmackDown.
As ever, wrestling fans are reminded that the above are just rumors and should not be taken at face value as facts
