New Matches Set To Be Added To Clash of Champions

WWE’s next PPV offering is Clash of Champions, which takes place in three weeks’ time. Currently, the card features just one match, with Bayley defending her title against Charlotte Flair. It was rumored last week that Braun Strowman will challenge for Seth Rollins, and there were plans for a New Day vs Revival match.

According to Wrestling Observer Newsletter, The Miz vs Shinsuke Nakamura will now take place at the PPV, with a previously planned Ali-Nakamura feud seemingly dropped from the card. Other matches that are rumored for the card include Sasha Banks vs Becky Lynch, Randy Orton vs Kofi Kingston, and Roman Reigns vs Daniel Bryan.

Buddy Murphy To Get a Big Push In The King of The Ring Tournament

Buddy Murphy is currently in midst of a great run on SmackDown Live, having defeated Daniel Bryan last week along with a hard-fought defeat against Roman Reigns the week before. According to Dave Meltzer of WON, Buddy Murphy could end up being the eventual finalist from the SmackDown side, and could even win the whole thing at Clash of Champions.

Considering his recent push, tremendous potential, and a weak SmackDown half due to Owens losing in the first round, Buddy Murphy is definitely looking a major favorite for the KOTR.

NXT To Remain The Same

WWE officially announced the impending move of NXT to USA Network on Tuesday, and many fans were wondering if Vince McMahon will have creative control on the third brand of WWE. However, according to multiple sources, there will be no change in how NXT is conducted, apart from a two-hour weekly episode instead of the one-hour format.

NXT will reportedly make $60 million over two years from the USA deal, which roughly translates to somewhere around $600k per episode.

Ronda Rousey Could Return at SmackDown Live’s Debut on FOX

Ronda Rousey took time off from WWE after WrestleMania earlier this year, and according to WON, Rousey will not be returning to WWE in a full-time role soon. Ronda Rousey, if and when she returns, will be more of a special attraction similar to John Cena, Brock Lesnar, and Undertaker.

WWE is going all-out for the debut episode of SmackDown Live on FOX and could bring back Rousey for a one-off appearance. Rousey has previously appeared on FOX during her time with UFC.

CM Punk Could Host a Talk Show on FS1

According to WON, CM Punk’s agent recently spoke with FOX authorities for a possible talk show gig for Punk on FS1. FOX was rumored to start a weekly show on FS1, which serves as a recap show for SmackDown Live. Renee Young was initially rumored to host this show, and now according to reports, Punk could end up hosting the show.

Punk has moved into a commentary role since late last year, after losing his first two matches in UFC comprehensively.
