1. Hair vs. Mask Match Planned For Andrade and Rey Mysterio?

Andrade takes on Humberto Carrillo this weekend at the Royal Rumble after he was able to defeat Rey Mysterio in a ladder match this past week on RAW. Carrillo looks to have stepped into the United States Championship picture, but Rey Mysterio is still teasing that there could be a Hair vs. Mask match between him and Andrade.

Mysterio told TV Insider: “I think the goal right now, after tonight’s outcome in the Andrade ladder match. I think something along the ways that if he wants to keep feuding and going a step further, I’m willing to put my mask on the line versus his hair for a WrestleMania moment.”

Despite the tease, The Observer is reporting that there are currently no plans for Andrade and Mysterio to collide again in the near future in a Hair vs. Mask match.

2. Bobby Lashley/Lana/Liv Morgan/Rusev Storyline Is Far From Over

Despite the ending of this week’s episode of Monday Night RAW, where Liv Morgan and Rusev lost the match to Bobby Lashley and Lana and it appeared that the feud could be over since Lashley and Lana continued their unbeaten streak over Rusev, this isn’t the case.

Lana vs. Liv Morgan has already been announced for next week’s episode of Monday Night RAW and now the Wrestling Observer is reporting that the feud is set to continue for the foreseeable future.

3. No Title Changes Expected At The Royal Rumble

There are just four Championships on the line at the Royal Rumble as The Fiend defends the Universal Championship against Daniel Bryan in a Strap match, Bayley puts the SmackDown Women’s Championship on the line against Lacey Evans, Becky Lynch defends the RAW Women’s Championship against Asuka and Andrade takes on the challenge of Humberto Carrillo with the United States Championship on the line.

Given this line-up, it probably doesn’t come as much of a surprise that CageSideSeats.com is reporting that there aren’t expected to be any titles changing hands on Sunday night.

4. Santino Marella and Hornswoggle Could Be Rumble Surprises

Speculation regarding Rumble surprise entrants is always rife the week of the show, but this week some interesting names have been raised through a number of different sources. PWInsider.com is reporting that Santino Marella is expected to be part of the show since he will be in Houston for the Rumble weekend, while Hornswoggle himself teased that he was in Houston, which has led to speculation regarding his place in the match.

5. Edge Is Expected To Be Part Of The Royal Rumble

After weeks of speculation regarding the future of WWE Hall of Famer Edge and whether or not he will be part of the upcoming Royal Rumble match, PWInsider.com revealed that The Rated R Superstar is expected to be in Houston this weekend and will be part of the show.

WWE has left a number of slots open for surprise entrants and while the likes of CM punk and Cain Velasquez could be surprises on the night, the former 11-time World Champion is also expected to be a surprise addition to the match.

6. Beth Phoenix Could Be a Potential Surprise Entrant In The Women’s Royal Rumble

Beth Phoenix hasn’t stepped into a WWE ring since WrestleMania 35 when she and Natalya came up short in their quest for the Women’s Tag Team Championships. The WWE Hall of Famer has since been working on commentary on NXT, but Tom Colohue of Sportskeeda.com is now reporting that the former Women’s Champion could join her husband in being a surprise returnee for tomorrow night’s event.

Phoenix isn’t the only surprise expected since Colohue went on to name Kay Lee Ray as a woman who could appear, whilst Nia Jax and Ruby Riott should also be in attendance for the show and Ronda Rousey is someone who many fans believe will be involved.

“Kay Lee Ray and Beth Pheonix are two names that I strongly believe will be in the Rumble that have been mentioned to me. We know Kay Lee Ray is going to be there from NXT UK, she’ll be there for Worlds Collide. Beth Pheonix, I think, is just an interesting story and a potential surprise winner. I’d very much enjoy that myself.”

As ever, wrestling fans are reminded that the above are just rumors and should not be taken at face value as facts.
