Summerslam is around the weekend and there is no drought for rumors. We have rounded up some exciting rumors that have been running wild this past week.
Note: Rumors are just rumors. Some of these might get confirmed at some point of time and some others might just stay as rumors.
Cody Rhodes and Young Bucks headed to WWE
Given the sort of success that AJ Styles has been having and the global acceptance and value that Cody and the Young Bucks possess right now makes them hot commodities which means that WWE really wants to cash in on that. While WWE has plenty of wrestlers who are great in the mid-card space they do need great main eventers and excellent tag teams and these three are pretty much made wrestlers and would fit those roles perfectly.
While nothing concrete has been agreed upon between WWE and these wrestlers, many sources report that WWE is actively pursuing them and we could very well see both Cody and the Young Bucks in a WWE ring in 2019.
CM Punk being wooed by ROH
While WWE might be the last place CM Punk wants to be in, it is understood that cash flow has slowed down considerably for the former superstar especially after the lawsuit with Amman and what appears to be a potential lawsuit being filed by Colt Cabana. He needs a high paying job.
UFC has also closed the door on a third fight for him which means that the wrestling world is all that is left as a regular source of some good money. ROH is also in a similar state as they seem to be all set to lose their biggest cash cows in the form of Cody Rhodes and the Young Bucks.
It would be quite the coup if ROH manage to convince CM Punk to return. Whichever event he returns in can easily outsell anything that WWE puts up. While CM Punk hasn’t given any clue to his willingness, it is understood that ROH are actively after him.
MLW stars Pentagon Jr. and Rey Fenix headed to WWE
Another couple of wrestlers on the WWE radar are Pentagon Jr. and Ray Fenix. These two have been creating quite the buzz and WWE wants to sign them on to bolster their talent pool. They would probably be signed to NXT and possibly make their main roster debut towards the end of next year.
Chris Jericho choosing Impact Wrestling over WWE
While WWE had been wanting Jericho to do a bit of appearance at Summerslam like he did at the Greatest Royal Rumble the ‘Ayatollah of Rock & Rolla’ wasn’t happy with that and is apparently headed to Impact Wrestling. He wants to try a different promotion after his massive success with NJPW and doesn’t want to be tied down to a WWE contract and still be able to appear for major indie events.
