1. Seth Rollins and Riddle Have Squashed Their Issues
It was revealed last year that Seth Rollins and Riddle had some heat between them after the comments that Riddle’s wife made about Rollins’ fiance Becky Lynch.
Rollins made it clear that he didn’t want to face Riddle at any point in the future, but as part of The Messiah’s final WWE appearance at Survivor Series, the duo reportedly talked out their differences.
According to a report by Fightful, the two men met up backstage and are now seemingly on the same page, even though they remain on different brands.
2. WWE Reportedly Unhappy With Mustafa Ali Following Comments on Raw Talk
Mustafa Ali appeared on Raw Talk this past week following Legends Night where he made some interesting comments about the WWE legends. The Leader of RETRIBUTION claimed that the show was “exactly what is wrong with this company, three hours [for] guys that can barely walk?”
After Charly Caruso then claimed that the legends did get cheered, Ali stated that the cheers in the ThunderDome were piped. It was an interesting rant from Ali who has since taken to Twitter to reveal that WWE doesn’t know if they will be giving him a live mic again.
Interestingly, RETRIBUTION didn’t appear on the Legends Night episode of Raw.
3. Jay White Gaining Praise Within WWE
Jay White’s contract with NJPW expires later this month and there are now rumors that he could become the hottest free agent in wrestling.
WrestleVotes recently reported that several WWE stars are going out of their way to speak highly of the star as WWE seemingly lead the chase for his signature.
White could choose to extend his stay in Japan, but rumors suggest that the star could finally be WWE bound. It appears that this story will become much more heated when the star’s current deal with NJPW finally expires.
4. Daniel Bryan Pushing for NXT Call-Ups
Daniel Bryan had been part of the creative process on SmackDown for a number of months and went above and beyond to learn the ropes in order to join the team. The former World Champion is looking to become a part-time wrestler in the near future, which could be linked to his move towards a backstage role.
Bryan has been focused on helping underutilized talents as of late, including Chad Gable and Big E, but according to a report by The Wrestling Observer, the former WWE Champion could now be looking to bring in some NXT stars to keep things fresh on SmackDown.
“Bryan in particular with his role in creative has been pushing to bring in more NXT talent to Smackdown to freshen things up but the counter has been the track record of everyone brought up in the last two years from NXT and how Vince ends up losing interest in them and that there is a roster full of guys who could be used that aren’t even on television now.”
5. Secret Authority Figure Behind the Scenes on SmackDown?
Adam Pearce was dragged into the main event picture last night on SmackDown when Paul Heyman revealed that he had been able to add the WWE Producer to the gauntlet match.
It’s unclear how Heyman was able to do this when Pearce is the authority figure on the show, but the producer was later victorious in the match and will now face Roman Reigns for the Universal Championship at the Royal Rumble.
WWE’s Twitter account even questioned whether or not this was an official match, Could this new authority figure be unveiled next week and reverse the decision of the match?
6. No Heat on Snoop Dogg Following AEW Appearance
Snoop Dogg appeared on AEW Dynamite this week and was even able to get physical in the ring. When this appearance was initially announced a few months ago, there were reportedly rumors of backstage heat in WWE, since the company had been working closely with Snoop Dogg at that point.
According to Fightful.com, there is now no backstage heat on the star from officials or stars in WWE following his appearance on Dynamite this week. It’s unknown as to whether or not Snoop Dogg is set to make any more appearances.
