WWE Rumor Roundup: Big E Being Repackaged, Roman Reigns vs The Rock, WWE Draft

WWE Concerned About Ratings on FOX

The 2020 WWE Draft saw SmackDown bring in a number of fresh faces which included Seth Rollins, Rey Mysterio, and Aleister Black. According to a report by Dave Meltzer of The Wrestling Observer, this was done so that WWE’s three biggest angles are part of SmackDown.

These are the angles that now surround Roman Reigns, Seth Rollins and Bayley. The report goes on to state that this was done because ensuring that ratings remain up on FOX is the priority for WWE right now.

Mia Yim in Trademark Battle With WWE

Mia Yim recently trademarked her ring name after WWE changed the star’s name to Reckoning when she was promoted to the main roster. Yim has been known by her current ring name throughout her career, but HeelByNature is reporting that there could be a conflict brewing between Yim and WWE regarding her ring name.

The report goes on to state that WWE already filed a trademark for the name and have now been sent a letter informing them that the filing will be canceled later in the year.

It’s unknown as to whether or not the star will be able to use her former name in WWE again, but the company likes to trademark names of their stars and their likeness in order to push forward merchandise.

Ronda Rousey and Becky Lynch Set to Main Event WrestleMania 37

There have been several rumors regarding Ronda Rousey’s WWE status in recent weeks, but it appears that Paul Heyman hinted earlier this week that the former Raw Women’s Champion could be set to sign a contract extension.

According to a report by WrestlingNews.co Rousey and Becky Lynch are expected to go one-on-one once again at WrestleMania 37. According to the report, Vince McMahon is hoping that Lynch makes her return to WWE in early 2021 so that build-up to this match can begin.

Roman Reigns Set to Defeat The Rock at WrestleMania 37

Roman Reigns has been pushing towards a match with The Rock for a number of years and it appears that the company could finally be able to stage the match at WrestleMania 37.

The Wrestling Observer recently reported that the shock for that match could be that The Rock will make his return to put over his family member. The only issue with the match going ahead at present are licensing issues with The Rock.

“Basically his line is that Rock brought it up, not Reigns. Make no mistake about it. Dwayne Johnson would love to put Reigns over at a WrestleMania in front of a big crowd. The issue has been insurance issues regarding other work he has coming up. It’s been an issue since the second Cena match. There have been at least three ideas, a singles with Lesnar, a singles match with HHH, and Rock & Rousey vs. HHH & Stephanie for him but none ever materialized.”

Triple H Receives Praise Backstage for Making SmackDown “Much Better” This Week

Triple H and Stephanie McMahon appeared on this week’s episode of SmackDown to launch the new season of WWE on FOX.

A report from RingSideNews stated that Triple H remained around after the first production meeting was over and he was able to make the show better just by being there.

Big E Set to Be Repackaged on SmackDown

As part of the 2020 Draft, Big E was drafted to SmackDown while Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods were moved over to Raw as Tag Team Champions. Last night on SmackDown, the trio was successful in the final match as The New Day and it could be the last time that Big E is seen in this character.

According to a report by The Wrestling Observer, Big E will now be repackaged on SmackDown into a much more serious character and will then be pushed on the blue brand.

As ever, wrestling fans are reminded that the above are just rumors and should not be taken at face value as facts.
