WWE Rumor Roundup: Carmella Getting a Makeover, Hell in a Cell, Roman Reigns vs Fiend

More Than 60 Members of Staff Released

WWE Hall of Famer Gerald Brisco noted on his Twitter earlier this week that he had been released from WWE after more than three decades of service.

It appears that many backstage employees who were furloughed back in April have now been released from their contracts as part of this most recent talent cull.

According to PWInsider, more than 60 members of staff have been released from WWE this past week.

Asuka’s Next Raw Women’s Championship Challenger

Asuka defends her Raw Women’s Championship against Mickie James this coming week on Raw, but it appears that the plans for Clash of Champions have been changed in recent weeks.

The Empress of Tomorrow was originally set to defend her Championship against Shayna Baszler at Clash of Champions.

Given The Submission Magician’s recent storyline with Nia Jax and her recent Women’s Tag Team Championship win, the Wrestling Observer is reporting that Asuka will defend against Natalya instead.

Hell in a Cell Has Changed Date

Earlier this month, WWE announced that Clash of Champions had been moved back a week following the addition of Payback to the company’s calendar.

It appears that WWE has made the decision to shuffle their pay-per-view calendar once again, since The Wrestling Observer is now reporting that Hell in a Cell has been moved from November 1st to October 25th. WWE is yet to officially announce this move.

Roman Reigns vs. The Fiend is Far From Over

Roman Reigns will defend his Universal Championship against his cousin Jey Uso in a few week’s time at Clash of Champions, but this doesn’t mean that his feud with The Fiend is over.

According to a report by the Wrestling Observer, The Fiend is being saved for a later date and will be given his rematch against Roman Reigns in the near future. There is a belief that this feud could be revisited in 2021 as part of the build-up to WrestleMania 37.

Last night on SmackDown, The Fiend unveiled Wobbly Walrus, who is a parody of Paul Heyman in the Firefly Fun House, which shows that this rivalry is far from over.

Otis Can Only Cash-In His Money in the Bank Contract in 2015

The Miz and John Morrison have been trying to steal Otis’ Money in the Bank contract over the past few weeks on SmackDown, and last night The A-Lister believed that he had finally taken the contract.

Otis later showed in a backstage segment that he still had his contract, while also giving the WWE universe a close up of the contract.

If zoomed in, it can be seen that it is noted on the piece of paper that the contract can only be used in 2015. Could it be that WWE used the wrong contract or will this play a major role in Otis’ cash-in in the future?

Carmella Set to Re-Debut Under a New Character?

In recent weeks, SmackDown has been playing vignettes which point towards the debut of a new character for a current or future female star.

Last night’s video contained more hints that this character was Carmella, even though it hasn’t yet been revealed officially.

Many fans pulled up some smaller hints, including Carmella’s tattoo which can be seen clearly in the video.

The former SmackDown Women’s Champion hasn’t been seen on WWE TV for a number of weeks, and it could be argued that The Princess of Staten Island is in need of a character change.

As ever, wrestling fans are reminded that the above are just rumors and should not be taken at face value as facts.
