WWE’s ratings for Monday Night Raw this past week were exceptionally low, which has led to a lot of decisions being made backstage over the past week.

It appears that backstage officials are not the only ones who have been hit hard by the ratings, since TalkSPORT is reporting that the USA Network was “furious” and are now pushing WWE for more adult content. This isn’t believed to be sexy level content, instead, they are looking for darker much more violent programming.

Bobby Lashley Expected to Defend the US Championship at the Royal Rumble

Bobby Lashley is the United States Champion, but at present The CEO of the Hurt Business isn’t set to defend his Championship at TLC on Sunday night.

In recent weeks, Lashley has been part of a feud with Riddle, but rather than pull the trigger on this feud this weekend, The Wrestling Observer notes that the plan is for Lashley to defend against Riddle at The Royal Rumble next month instead. The Hurt Business will be represented this weekend by Shelton Benjamin and Cedric Alexander as they challenge The New Day for the Raw Tag Team Championships.

TLC Change Has Reportedly Been Planned for Weeks

This past week on Raw, Lana was attacked by Shayna Baszler and Nia Jax following her victory over the latter. Lana was then written out of this weekend’s TLC match against the Women’s Tag Team Champions due to injury.

While this came as a shock to the WWE Universe, RingSideNews is reporting that the plan for Asuka to have a new teammate has been in the works for weeks, and Lana was always scheduled to be taken out.

New NXT Show Planned for 2021

There have been reports in recent months that WWE is planning a new NXT show that will be exclusive to the Network. A report by WrestlingInc states that Triple H has assembled a team to oversee this new show that is likely to be released in early 2020.

The Wrestling Observer has also reported that these plans have been in the works for a long time but at present, there is nothing official.

WWE Reportedly Offered Riddle a Huge New Contract

Riddle has only recently been able to make an impact on the main roster, after being promoted earlier this year. The former NXT star’s contract expires in August 2021 and it appears that WWE is now preparing to lock him down to a new deal.

The Wrestling Observer recently noted that the former NXT Tag Tem Champion is yet to sign a new deal, but the company has offered a substantial amount in order to push him to sign.

“It’s said he’s pretty much agreed to terms for a three-year deal at $400,000 per year guaranteed plus $50,000 for every show in Saudi Arabia.”

Paul Heyman and Michael PS Hayes Currently Working Hands-On With Roman Reigns

Paul Heyman has been working alongside Roman Reigns on WWE TV over the past few months, but according to a report by Ringsidenews, Heyman is also the mind behind Reigns’ recent on-screen promos.

Reigns and Heyman joined forces following the star’s return to WWE back in the summer and Reigns has since seen a huge change in character.

The report states that Heyman has been writing all of Reigns’ promos while WWE Hall of Famer Michael PS Hayes has been personally producing Reigns’ pay-per-view matches in recent months. It appears that the combination of both men’s input is the reason for the drastic change in Reigns recently.

As ever, wrestling fans are reminded that the above are just rumors and should not be taken at face value as facts
