1. Ronda Rousey’s WrestleMania Return?
Ronda Rousey and Cain Velasquez were spotted at WWE Headquarters earlier in the week and there is now speculation that this was to discuss their future with the company. Given the fact that there is now uncertainty surrounding Shayna Baszler‘s WrestleMania role, there have been some rumors to suggest that Rousey could be called in for a rematch against Becky Lynch instead.
2. Elimination Chamber Card Is Not Yet Complete
WWE presents their final pay-per-view stop on the road to WrestleMania tomorrow night when Elimination Chamber takes center stage and even though Daniel Bryan vs Drew Gulak was added to the show following SmackDown, this is reportedly not the complete card.
According to various reports, WWE could still be set to add another two matches to the show before it goes live tomorrow night. It will be interesting to who these matches are between, since the Chamber pay-per-view is currently lacking a male/female World Championship match, so having Bayley defend her title could be a huge boost.
3. Lana’s Recent WWE Absence
Many fans were seemingly annoyed by the fact that this past Monday night on Raw the whole Lana/Liv Morgan angle looked as though it had been dropped as Morgan moved on to a feud with Ruby Riott and Sarah Logan heading into Elimination Chamber where all three women will step inside the structure.
It is believed that the reason behind Lana’s absence this past week was because the former Total Divas star is filming a movie. According to The Wrestling Observer, Lana is appearing in a movie alongside Bruce Willis. Bobby Lashley was backstage at Raw but he wasn’t used, this is thought to be because he’s currently in a feud with Rusev and the company is hoping that if the Bulgarian Brute signs a new deal, then the two men will finally be able to have a blow-off match.
4. Elimination Chamber Match Scrapped?
When it was revealed last week on Friday Night SmackDown that Roman Reigns would be facing Goldberg at WrestleMania, it came as a shock to many members of the WWE Universe, especially since Sheamus had already declared himself for an Elimination Chamber match that is now not going to happen.
According to a report by Tom Colohue of Sportskeeda, it came as a surprise to superstars in WWE as well, since they thought that Roman Reigns would win the Elimination Chamber match and go on to face Goldberg.
“First and foremost, it wasn’t just a surprise for the fans, it was also a surprise to some of the wrestlers who were going to be in that match. It was not formally announced but the people who were going to be in that match were aware it was supposed to be happening and were aware of how they were going to be used. So it was a surprise to a lot of the individuals there.”
5. Uncertainty Surrounding Shayna Baszler?
Shayna Baszler took on Kairi Sane on Monday Night Raw this week, in a match that should have seen Asuka step up to the former NXT Women’s Champion. Instead, Sane stepped in following Asuka’s injury and the match was considered to be underwhelming even though Sane and Baszler have had some interesting showdowns in the past.
According to a report by The Wrestling Observer, Vince McMahon was not happy with the match on Raw, since it failed to make Baszler a star and now there could be some uncertainty surrounding her match with Becky Lynch at WrestleMania.
“There was negativity and uncertainty regarding McMahon’s reaction to Baszler’s match with Kairi Sane on Raw not getting the desired reaction and Baszler not coming off like a WrestleMania headliner.”
6. Brock Lesnar Wants To Put Drew McIntyre Over
Drew McIntyre failed to win a single pay-per-view match in 2019 and his Royal Rumble victory back in January was his first singles match win on pay-per-view in almost a decade, but despite the odds stacked against him, WWE has decided that 2020 will be the year of the Scottish star and he now waits to face The Beast at WrestleMania 36 next month.
Vince McMahon reportedly isn’t the only one backing McIntyre either, since Tom Colohue of Sportskeeda revealed that Brock Lesnar also wants to put the star over.
“In addition to that, when you hear the crowd chanting one more time, Brock Lesnar heard it, Lesnar got up. He showed for it. Lesnar is doing everything he can to put Drew McIntyre over and he’s been doing that since the Royal Rumble match.”
As ever, wrestling fans are reminded that the above are just rumors and should not be taken at face value as facts.
