WWE Rumor Roundup: Title Change at Clash of Champions, Future of Mandy Rose and Otis

Mandy Rose and Otis to Continue Their Relationship

Mandy Rose was recently drafted over to Monday Night Raw, in what came as quite the shock to the WWE Universe. Rose and Otis have been part of a storyline since the turn of the year and it was believed that this draft meant that their relationship was over.

According to The Wrestling Observer, the relationship between the two stars is set to continue but it will be a long-distance storyline for now.

Randy Orton to Defeat Drew McIntyre at Clash of Champions

Randy Orton and Drew McIntyre collide for the WWE Championship at Clash of Champions, which would be the next chapter in what has been an intense rivalry.

Orton “dislocated” McIntyre’s jaw a few weeks ago and it appears that it could be The Viper walking out of Clash of Champions with the WWE Championship since The Wrestling Observer noted that there are “signs” that this is the direction WWE is heading in.

Roman Reigns to Transition Back into a Babyface

Roman Reigns has returned to SmackDown as a heel over the past few weeks and is set to defend his Universal Championship against his cousin Jey Uso in just over a week’s time at Clash of Champions.

According to a report by WrestlingNews.co, the plan is for Roman Reigns to be pushed as a heel on SmackDown and be cheered in this capacity until he can then transition back into being a babyface.

Zelina Vega to Challenge Asuka at Clash of Champions

Asuka was originally set to defend her Raw Women’s Championship against Shayna Baszler at Clash of Champions but given the current storyline, this idea was changed to bring in Natalya.

Dave Meltzer of The Wrestling Observer recently noted that the plan for Natalya was never pushed and now it appears as though Zelina Vega could be the one to challenge Asuka at Clash of Champions instead.

“The original plan was Asuka vs. Shayna Baszler, but that got changed when Baszler won the tag titles. It appeared they were headed for Asuka vs. Natalya, but it was never strongly pushed and more because they had started the Natalya & Lana pairing to build Natalya for a title shot. But that’s seemingly been dropped.”

NXT Takeover Set to Take Place at WWE ThunderDome

It was announced earlier this week that the next NXT Takeover would be taking place on October 4th, but a location was yet to be decided. According to a report by The Wrestling Observer, the show isn’t expected to take place from Full Sail University like the last two Takeover events during the pandemic.

Instead, WWE could make the decision to allow the show to take place from the ThunderDome, which has become WWE’s home over the past few weeks.

Melina Reportedly Re-Signs With WWE, Denies Rumors

PWInsider reported last night that former five-time Champion Melina had re-signed with WWE. This would have been a huge move for the WWE Women’s Division who are currently missing both Becky Lynch and Charlotte Flair.

While the Champion herself has denied the rumors on Twitter, it’s become commonplace for superstars to head to social media to deny rumors in recent years, and it could be argued that Edge denied that he was making his return until the day of the Rumble back in January.

It could be that WWE has some interesting plans for the return of Melina and it’s better if her return is kept a secret.

As ever, wrestling fans are reminded that the above are just rumors and should not be taken at face value as facts.
