WWE Rumor Roundup: WrestleMania 37 Location, New Streaming Rules For WWE Stars, WWE Draft

1. WrestleMania 37 Set to Be Moved to Tampa Bay?

WrestleMania 36 was originally set to take place from The Raymond James Stadium in Tampa Bay, but the COVID-19 pandemic caused WWE to change their plans.

While the company has already pushed WrestleMania 37 as “WrestleMania Hollywood” since it was planned to take place in Los Angeles, it appears that WWE could be set to change this plan and instead move to The Raymond James Stadium for WrestleMania 27.

According to WrestleVotes, WWE is currently pushing for a way out of their current deals with Los Angeles so that the company can move their biggest show of the year to Tampa.

2. RAW Underground Hasn’t Been Canceled

Raw Underground wasn’t part of this week’s episode of Raw, since WWE decided that it was safer not to include the NXT stars who are usually part of the segment. The Wrestling Observer confirmed that Raw Underground isn’t over, everything is still “subject to change” at present.

The recent COVID-19 outbreak has caused a number of issues at WWE’s Performance Center, but Raw Underground isn’t expected to be canceled as a result.

3. NXT Moving Away From Full Sail University

NXT has been located at Full Sail University for a number of years and many fans see this as NXT’s main location. This may no longer be the case moving forward since WrestlingInc is reporting that NXT has moved away from Full Sail because WWE has stopped using students at their tapings and prevented interaction between WWE stars and students which was apparently another factor in the decision.

4. Identity of Returning NXT Star

In recent weeks, NXT has been playing teaser videos regarding the return of a former Champion to the brand. Many fans believed that Bo Dallas or Robert Roode could be the former NXT Champions making their return. Roode recently returned on Raw and it’s been noted that Dallas’ recent reputation could hinder his return to the black and gold brand.

Dave Meltzer of The Wrestling Observer recently noted that Chad Gable could be the star that’s being teased to make his return since Gable is a former Tag Team Champion on all three WWE brands. The star now known as Shorty G could do with the boost that returning to NXT would do for his career.

5. Tension Between Triple H and Vince McMahon Surrounding WWE Draft

The annual WWE Draft begins next week but it appears that this year’s selections could be causing some tension backstage between Triple H and Vince McMahon. In the past, McMahon has taken a number of stars from NXT without Triple H’s knowledge and it’s reported by RingsideNews that while Triple H has some input this time around, he doesn’t have the final say.

This means that The Game could be losing some big names from NXT in the coming weeks, which is causing a few issues backstage. Triple H did recently note that protocols have changed, which shows that there were a few problems before.

“There are different protocols and procedures now around moving an NXT wrestler to the main roster, and you’ll see that in the upcoming draft later this year. You definitely have to think about the changes a lot more now.”

6. WWE Stars Livid Regarding Twitch and Cameo Announcements

It was revealed yesterday that WWE stars would have their Twitch and Cameo accounts taken over by WWE in the coming weeks and that this would then become part of their contractual obligations.

The new rules regarding the streaming services have reportedly been met by angry WWE stars, but RingsideNews reports that “A lot of talent is livid, but as is usually the case in these situations, nobody would speak up about it.”

As ever, wrestling fans are reminded that the above are just rumors and should not be taken at face value as facts.
