1. Edge vs. Randy Orton Planned for WrestleMania 37
Edge and Randy Orton have been feuding ever since The Viper attacked The Legend Killer following his return to WWE at the Royal Rumble. Their feud was cut short a few weeks ago when Edge suffered a torn bicep and was sidelined following their match at Backlash.
It appears that WWE could be set to continue the feud when Edge is able to return to the company since The Wrestling Observer is currently reporting that the plan for WrestleMania 37 is for The Viper and The Legend Killer to collide in an “I Quit” Match.
This was WWE’s original plan for SummerSlam but Edge’s recent injury forced the company into making a change.
2. Asuka vs. Charlotte Originally Scheduled for SummerSlam
Asuka will have to defeat Sasha Banks next week on Raw in order for this match to still be able to take place, but since Charlotte is currently taking hiatus from the company, it’s unlikely that the former 12-time Women’s Champion will be returning to the company in time for SummerSlam.
The Observer noted that Asuka was set to defend her Women’s Championship against Charlotte at SummerSlam but this plan could now change and it could be based around her current feud with Sasha Banks instead.
3. Vince McMahon Thinks Something is Missing With Aleister Black
In recent weeks, Aleister Black has been handed some lengthy matches on Raw and was one of the stars who were the subject of a huge push under Paul Heyman. Since Heyman’s departure from Raw, Black’s push could have been affected.
His loss to Seth Rollins on Raw could be seen as quite a big setback for the former NXT Champion since Tom Colohue recently reported that Vince McMahon believes there is something missing with Black.
“To my knowledge, it is Vince McMahon who has mixed opinions shall we say. Vince added that creek to the entrance when he leverages up and now he has removed the entrance all together. We haven’t seen the Aleister Black entrance in a long time.”
“To put it bluntly, Vince thinks that there’s something missing about Aleister Black. It’s similar to how he feels about Cesaro. Keep an eye on this one because we all know how that went.”
4. Nation of Domination Style Stable Causing Controversy?
There was a rumor that WWE’s plan with MVP was for the star to create a stable similar to The Nation of Domination, but this may not be the plan moving forward since The Wrestling Observer Newsletter is reporting that many people in WWE and behind the scenes believe that a Nation of Domination with the current social climate isn’t the best idea.
MVP recently recruited Shelton Benjamin and it appears that the group will continue to move forward, but they could instead have different aims that ensure that the new stable doesn’t cause controversy.
5. Edge and Daniel Bryan Now Part of WWE’s Writing Team
Edge and Daniel Bryan are two veterans of the business and it appears that WWE’s creative team just gained a huge boost since Ringsidenews is reporting that the two former World Champions recently joined the team.
Edge and Bryan are now in a position to pitch ideas for other stars as well as their own storylines and don’t have to relocate to Stamford in order to have an input.
“We’ve been told Edge & Daniel Bryan joined the writing team a few weeks ago. They have a sweet deal. They get to pitch ideas, they get access to scripts, and the grid. They get McMahon meeting notes & don’t have to be there or go to Stamford either.”
6. MVP Behind Mustafa Ali’s Recent Return to Raw
This past week on Monday Night Raw, Mustafa Ali made his long-awaited return which seemingly marked the end of the Hacker storyline which has been taking place on SmackDown.
Ali teamed with Cedric Alexander and Ricochet in their win over MVP, Shelton Benjamin, and Bobby Lashley and according to a report by Tom Colohue from Sportskeeda, MVP is the man behind Ali’s recent push on Raw.
“When it comes to his return, this comes as a result of availability. But I personally couldn’t be happier for him. If there were more people there, I worry that he would not have got that chance. And he is someone who deserves to at least be on TV. He has had WWE Championship matches quite recently. He had so much momentum on SmackDown.”
“On RAW, he took his chance and got something good out of it. Everyone else in that match wanted him to pick up that win. MVP has a strong voice backstage, and I think he is using it right to put people over.”
As ever, wrestling fans are reminded that the above are just rumors and should not be taken at face value as facts.
