Tessa Blanchard is one of the hottest free agents in wrestling right now. Ever since Impact Wrestling fired Blanchard in June, she has been constantly linked with WWE and AEW. Reportedly, WWE and Tessa are in contact to make a possible deal.
In the recent edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer revealed that AEW isn’t interested in signing Blanchard.
Even though the former Impact World Champion is one of the most popular female wrestlers in the world, she has had her issues with other wrestlers.
A few months ago, Allysin Kay called her out for using a racial slur at La Rosa Negra. Tessa was also fired by Impact because she denied dropping her title.
She was supposed to provide a recorded promo to Impact but she didn’t and this might have also led to her firing from the company.
Even though AEW has decided “to not pursue” Blanchard, it’s safe to say that there are promotions ready to sign her right away and WWE is the most popular of them. Blanchard’s only match since the pandemic was against Kylie Rae in September.
