Ali has quickly become one of the top babyfaces on SmackDown Live, and his performances have always received praise from the fans and critics alike. Ali recently participated in the King of the Ring tournament, and lost out to Elias in the second round.
The match between Elias and Ali was praised by many, and it seems like the top personalities backstage too, liked it. According to Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful.com, Vince McMahon and Eric Bischoff walked up to Ali after his match two weeks ago and congratulated him on his performance.
The report adds that one of those two termed it as Ali’s’ best match until now, and Bischoff is in favor of pushing the Chicago native. WWE has previously tried to present Ali in a bigger role, but it has led to nowhere.
Ali was set to participate in his first-ever WWE Championship match at Elimination Chamber earlier this year, before he was replaced by Kofi Kingston, who went on to have a fairytale run later.
Ali was teased as Shinsuke Nakamura‘s next challenger for the Intercontinental Championship, but those plans were eventually dropped. Ali has been on the main roster for less than a year, but has rubbed shoulders with the very best.
A push for Ali would be quite deserving, as he has the natural babyface persona which is often missing on WWE programming. WWE Universe is often treated to superstars like Seth Rollins and Braun Strowman as top babyfaces, who should rather be spending time as heels.
The report on Fightful also states that Liv Morgan is set to be repackaged soon. The former member of the Riott Squad, Liv Morgan has impressed audiences with her performances ever since she was a part of the stable.
Liv Morgan and Ali receiving push on the blue brand is daresay, Best for Business.
