Backstage Details on Plans for Roman Reigns at WrestleMania if The Rock isn’t an Option

WrestleMania 37 is now mere months away since the Road to WrestleMania begins in just over six weeks’ time at the 2021 Royal Rumble.

While there are several matches already reportedly planned for the event, WWE is yet to lock any in stone and that includes the headliner between The Rock and Roman Reigns.

According to a report by WrestleTalk, there are many factors that could get in the way of the fantasy match including The Rock’s busy movie schedule and the current COVID-19 pandemic.

Just incase The Rock isn’t able to step back in the ring for the first time since WrestleMania 32, WWE has already begun discussing other options for Reigns including Big E and Daniel Bryan.

Drew McIntyre is also a name that has been thrown around after he impressed WWE officials at Survivor Series, while Goldberg could also make a return after Reigns was forced to pull out of their scheduled match at WrestleMania 36.

The report noted that WWE doesn’t have plans in place for next week’s episode of SmackDown, let alone WrestleMania which is still around five months away.

At present, the company is hoping that The Rock is able to return to face his cousin, but contingency plans are in place if a deal can’t be made.
