WWE Hall of Famer Edge has been a hot topic of conversation ever since he made a shock return to the ring as part of SummerSlam back in August and delivered a spear to Elias who was insulting the Toronto crowd.

Edge has been out of action ever since 2011 when he was diagnosed with Cervical Spinal Stenosis and was then forced to drop the World Championship that he had only acquired at WrestleMania a few days before.

The former Champion was then inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame the following year and has since stepped into the acting industry after being told that one bad bump could leave him paralyzed. Given the fact that Edge returned and was physical in the ring for the first time in more than eight years, many fans believe that he could finally have been cleared and according to Mike Johnson of PWInsider, Edge could have signed a new WWE deal that will allow him to return to in-ring competition as soon as the Royal Rumble.

“We’ve been told that Edge signed a new deal,” Johnson said via Ringsidenews. “We’ve been told that it has a very nice upside to it financially and you have to think it’s not just a legends deal where they just have him show up and have him do promos. So, I think there’s more smoke to the fire with Edge than there is with Paige as we record this.”

Rumors surrounding Edge’s future have been at the forefront of wrestling news in recent weeks, but even though The Rated R Superstar has denied being cleared or looking to make his in-ring return, there does seem to be a lot of focus on his new WWE deal and the new terms surrounding it as well as what this could imply.
