Backstage News on How AEW is Going to Use Sting

This week in AEW Dynamite’s Winter Is Coming episode, the wrestling promotion treated the fans to an exciting show.

When Team Taz attacked Darby Allin, Arn Anderson, Dustin Rhodes, and Cody Rhodes, former WCW wrestler Sting made a shocking debut. With his signature baseball bat in hand, Sting marched towards the ring.

Later, AEW’s broadcaster Jim Ross revealed that Sting has signed a multi-year deal with the company. According to Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, AEW will feature Sting regularly on Dynamite.

He would not get physical, but fans could see him in a similar role as Arn Anderson. Sting is likely going to manage Darby Allin going forward as the green star would be benefitted from his guidance.

If at one point Sting does get physical in the ring, Meltzer said, it would be done with precautions in mind.

A few months ago, WWE pulled Sting’s merchandise off their website and it was revealed that The Icon was no longer in a contract with the company.
