Roman Reigns was attacked on SmackDown Live this week, while he was on his way to make a major announcement regarding his opponent for Summerslam. Similar to Reigns, Daniel Bryan had promised a major announcement regarding his career for quite some time now, and according to the latest update by Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Bryan is set to be revealed as Reigns’ attacker.
Bryan and Reigns have never had a proper singles rivalry in WWE but have crossed paths on WWE programming before, but they are set to contest in a singles match at Summerslam according to Meltzer.
Apart from this, four other matches are rumored to be added to the Summerslam card according to WON.
- Dolph Ziggler is set to face Goldberg
- IIconics will defend their titles against Sonya Deville & Mandy Rose, Nikki Cross & Alexa Bliss and The Kabuki Warriors
- Drew McIntyre will lock horns with Cedric Alexander
- Drew Gulak will defend his Cruiserweight Championship against Oney Lorcan.
Summerslam card is already packed, and WWE is looking to add several more matches to the Biggest Show of the Summer. Summerslam is usually considered as the second biggest PPV after WrestleMania, the card is packed with more than a dozen matches and WWE is throwing everything into the PPV.
Dolph Ziggler has been name-dropping Goldberg for several weeks now, and many fans were wondering what the endgame was. Goldberg last wrestled at WWE’s Saudi Arabia show against the Undertaker, in a sub-par wrestling encounter.
Dolph is currently advertised to face off against the Miz at Summerslam, but expect the updated match-up to be announced soon!
Roman Reigns vs Daniel Bryan will be a battle of two of the biggest superstars WWE has created in the last decade and will be a great wrestling match-up. Could we see Luke Harper return to join Bryan and Rowan against Roman and his cousins the Usos?
