Rey Mysterio saved Humberto Carrillo from meeting the same fate as Andrade this week on RAW when he ruined Angel Garza‘s main roster debut by confronting him following the attack on his real-life cousin. Garza and Mysterio then had a fantastic match that proved that Garza could well belong on RAW after only a mere amount of months on NXT.
Following their bout, Garza dragged Mysterio to the ringside and delivered the Hammerlock DDT to the former United States Champion on the unforgiving concrete. According to a report by CageSideSeats, this could have been done as a way to write Rey Mysterio off WWE TV for the next few weeks, which means recent rumors regarding Mysterio must not have had any truth to them.
Originally it was thought that Mysterio would become part of the feud between Kevin Owens and Seth Rollins as soon as his feud with Andrade came to an end. This now must not be the case since the storyline has been able to continue without him, even though Samoa Joe‘s injury could have opened the door for Mysterio to join the story.
One man that has been missing from WWE TV for a few weeks is EC3, the former Impact Wrestling star suffered a concussion back in 2019 and many fans believe that he would be back in the ring when he had recovered. Earlier today it was reported by PWInsider that WWE had given up on trademarking EC3’s name, which can’t be great news for the former NXT star’s future.
Originally EC3 trademarked his own name since it was the name he was known by in Impact but WWE had six months for the initial refusal of the trademark from July 24th last year. The website noted that the company had abandoned the pursuit of the trademark on January 25th, 2020.
