The Monster Among Men, Braun Strowman, is one of the top superstars in the company today. It was reported a few months ago that Strowman has inked a new deal with the company, which will keep him with the company for the next four years at least.
New details have emerged regarding this contract, and it is believed that Strowman signed a deal worth $1.2 million per year. Braun Strowman signed with WWE five years ago and was fast-tracked to the main roster.
Strowman started out with the Wyatt Family before he was put into the singles division in 2016. Strowman has performed admirably in the role, but WWE’s inconsistent booking has resulted in Strowman never reaching his full potential in the company.
Strowman lost to Seth Rollins at Clash of Champions last month, which marked a sixth straight loss for the Monster in Universal Championship matches.
Strowman has a total of two title reigns in WWE, both being Tag-Team Championships. Despite being one of the top guys in the company, Strowman is yet to receive a singles championship in WWE.
Hopefully, Strowman’s new deal will see him become the top guy in the company leading to several World Championship reigns for him.
Another powerhouse in wrestling, Cain Velasquez, was recently reported to be in talks with WWE over a possible deal. WWE even teased a Lesnar-Velasquez feud last week on RAW, after Lesnar destroyed Velasquez’s fellow Mexican Rey Mysterio.
According to Wrestling Observer Newsletter, the talks between the two parties have hit a ‘snag’, and Velasquez is currently looking into other options like AEW and NJPW.
Velasquez’s acquisition will be a pretty big deal for any company, as he brings with him a truckload of fans from his days with UFC.
These reports, however, could be totally false and WWE may have already signed a deal with the former UFC Heavyweight Champion. Imagine WWE bringing out Velasquez during the Brock Lesnar-Kofi Kingston match during Friday Night Smackdown!
