Brock Lesnar Has No Dates Till Royal Rumble, Update On Cain Velasquez’s WWE Future

Brock Lesnar scored a successful WWE Title defense against Rey Mysterio last month at Survivor Series. It was The Beast’s final match of the year and his last WWE appearance of 2019.

Now that Lesnar is again on a hiatus, fans have begun questioning his part-time status in the company. With TLC: Tables, Ladders & Chairs taking place this Sunday, it’s a pity to see the WWE Championship missing from the official match card.

Brad Shepard is reporting that Lesnar isn’t scheduled for an appearance till Royal Rumble, meaning it’s going to be a month before the WWE Universe gets a glimpse of the coveted gold.

Per rumors, The Beast would be walking into WrestleMania 36 with the WWE Championship around his waist which means his title defense at January’s Rumble is just a mere formality.

Given there are several full-time Superstars worthy of the prestigious World Title, WWE higher-ups really need to gradually reduce Lesnar’s importance in the company and move on from him.

On the other hand, Cain Velasquez‘s immediate future in WWE continues to loom in the dark despite the former UFC megastar working a Mexican house show earlier this month.

According to Brad Shepard, WWE has nothing set in stone for Velasquez at the moment.

Velasquez has been dealing with a serious knee injury that requires surgery, making him uncertain for WrestleMania 36.

At Crown Jewel, Velasquez made his WWE in-ring debut against Lesnar. The match was quick with The Beast retaining his title by forcing his opponent to tap out in under a minute.

The WWE Universe has been rooting for Velasquez vs. Lesnar at WrestleMania 36 but it doesn’t seem like WWE will be able to book the match if the bald-headed athlete fails to receive medical clearance ahead of the Show Of Shows next year.
