At WrestleMania 36, Brock Lesnar dropped the WWE Championship to Drew McIntyre and disappeared from television. The Beast is notorious for taking hiatus as and when possible, but this time, it could be a lengthy one.
As reported earlier, WWE never booked Lesnar for SummerSlam. The Conqueror lost to Seth Rollins at The Biggest Party Of Summer last year, but this time he isn’t even on the PPV card.
The Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports that the plan to exclude Lesnar from SummerSlam was finalized even before WrestleMania. The reason why The Beast put The Sexy Scotsman over so strongly is that he isn’t scheduled to return anytime soon.
“Lesnar is not scheduled for this year’s SummerSlam show. One of the reasons he put over McIntyre so strongly was because he was not coming back any time soon. Heyman has not been brought to television since he was let go as head of Raw creative.“
Last month, WWE fired Paul Heyman from his Executive Director position on Monday Night RAW. The legendary Advocate hasn’t appeared on TV since his axing, and his absence could play into a lot of factors with Lesnar as well.
Given Lesnar’s super expensive price tag, it remains to be seen when WWE brings The Beast back to storylines.
