<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Could <strong>Cardi B</strong> be the WWE’s next celebrity guest wrestler?</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Earlier this week, hip hop star Cardi B, revealed on Twitter
that she was a WWE fan.</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">The revelation came after a fan Tweeted at Cardi that, in a video she posted, it looked like she was rapping from the old General Manager’s office that was featured on the WWE video game “SmackDown vs. Raw&#8221;.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Cardi replied with Eddie Guerrero’s classic line: &#8220;I lie, I cheat, I steal.&#8221;</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">When questioned about how she knew about Guerrero, Cardi
answered that she used to watch wrestling and named her favorite wrestlers:</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Cardi’s WWE Tweets got the <a rel="noreferrer noopener" aria-label=" (opens in a new tab)" href="https://www.wwe.com/article/cardi-b-is-a-wwe-universe-member" target="_blank">attention of several current WWE superstars</a>, including former SmackDown Women’s champion <strong>Carmella</strong>.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">The Princess of Staten Island also revealed that she was a
fan of Cardi B and that her latest ring gear was actually inspired by Cardi.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">WWE has a long history of jumping on to any positive attention from celebrities from other media. They could be hoping to ride on to Cardi B’s popularity to bring more attention to their own product and get some of Cardi’s fans interested in WWE.</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">In line with this, WWE has released a new video on <em>WWE Now</em> which hints that Cardi could be working a program with one of her biggest WWE fans Carmella.</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">The video, which you can see below, recaps the events
leading up to Cardi revealing herself as a “card carrying member of the WWE
Universe.”</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">They also then mention a Tweet which stated that Cardi should work with Carmella during Summerslam. While Cardi has yet to respond to that, Carmella responded positively with several “praying hands” emojis.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">The video’s host, Ryan Pappulla, suggests that Carmella and Cardi should form a tag team for Summerslam, then asks what the WWE Universe thinks. No word yet as to what Cardi thinks.</p>
