Cesaro has reportedly agreed to a new deal with WWE after reports surfaced of his previous contract expiring after Wrestlemania this year.
The Swiss Superman recently turned babyface once again and was given a small push, but that doesn’t seem to be a long-term plan.
According to Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Cesaro was supposed to be in Nakamura’s spot during the recently conducted Gauntlet Match on Smackdown Live.
However, since he had not signed a contract, WWE decided to go ahead with his tag-team partner Nakamura instead.
Now, instead of a push, WWE has communicated with Cesaro that he will be in a position to put over younger stars in his latest run.
Cesaro has often been a fan favorite, and his recent clean wins over Daniel Bryan and Dolph Ziggler forced fans to think that a full-fledged singles push was finally incoming.
