Drew McIntyre Could Reportedly Lose WWE Title to Randy Orton at SummerSlam

After a successful title defense at The Horror Show At Extreme Rules, Drew McIntyre will once again put the WWE Championship on the line against Dolph Ziggler next week on Monday Night RAW.

The Sexy Scotsman is expected to retain the title on July 27th but he may not have the strap around his waist come August.

For some time, there have been rumors of a potential WWE Title showdown between McIntyre and Randy Orton at SummerSlam. Wrestling Observer Newsletter is now reporting that there’s a tremendous possibility of The Legend Killer dethroning The Scottish Psychopath at The Biggest Party Of Summer next month.

“There have been rumors floating that Orton goes over and leads to a match with Edge, but that seems so counterproductive to take the title off McIntyre for Orton.”

Orton winning his 14th world championship would also provide Edge an opportunity to re-enter the competitive title picture.

As per the latest reports, WWE’s current plan is to book The Viper and the Rated R Superstar in an intense “I Quit” match at WrestleMania 37 to bring their rivalry to a close and adding the WWE Title to that bout would simply raise the stakes even higher.

At present, Orton is the most decorated Superstar on the RAW brand, and putting the prestigious strap on him can do wonders for Vince McMahon’s business.
