EVOLVE’s Anthony Greene has been signed to NXT. Gary Cassidy of Sportskeeda.com is reporting that Greene is following in the footsteps of another EVOLVE wrestler Leon Ruff and heading to WWE.
Ruff was reportedly signed to the WWE on Friday, with PWinsider breaking the news and reporting that he was to be part of NXT.
Greene and Ruff are the first in what some people are anticipating to be a wave of EVOLVE talent joining the WWE. EVOLVE and WWE have had a friendly relationship since 2015, with EVOLVE talent being featured in WWE productions and vice versa.
EVOLVE’s finances were badly hit by the COVID-19 pandemic and in July, WWE purchased EVOLVE, gaining the rights to the production’s name and video library. At that time, it was said that WWE was particularly interested in four EVOLVE stars.
Ruff has actually appeared on RAW, SmackDown, Main Event, NXT, and 205 Live. Greene meanwhile was featured in promos for EVOLVE events that were aired in the WWE Network.
After Greene and Ruff, Cassidy is reporting that another EVOLVE star that WWE is supposed to be interested in signing is Curt Stallion.
