Luke Harper hasn’t been seen on WWE TV for a long time since the former Intercontinental Champion decided to publicly request his WWE release.

There was a time when Harper was seen as one of the break out members of The Wyatt Family and a push was definitely heading his way, but injuries have definitely plagued his career as well as the fact that the creative team doesn’t seem to have a lot for him to do.

Harper wasn’t granted his release by WWE, who are still worried that someone with his potential could head over to AEW, but instead, the company added three months onto his current contract for the months that he has spent on the sidelines due to injury.

Harper’s WWE future has been undetermined for the past few months but according to Mike Johnson on PWInsider’s Elite Audio, there is now a plan for Harper to return to WWE TV this week.

It is unknown what the former Bludgeon Brother will be doing since Erick Rowan is now in a tag team with Daniel Bryan and the duo recently lost their SmackDown Tag Team Championships, while Bray Wyatt is part of The FireFly Fun House.

It will be interesting to see what Harper will be doing on WWE TV in the future since he was last seen as one half of the SmackDown Tag Team Champions before he was forced to drop the titles when Rowan suffered an injury around SummerSlam last year.

Harper has since been used as part of NXT programming because the main roster had no creative plans for him, which could have led to the frustrations he was feeling when he publicly requested his release from WWE earlier this year.

It is as yet unknown if Harper is still pushing for his release, but it will be nice to see him return to the company and work under either Paul Heyman or Eric Bischoff.
