John Cena hasn’t appeared on WWE TV since WrestleMania 35 back in April when he rehashed his Doctor of Thuganomics gimmick and interrupted Elias. The Drifter was then given an AA before a run-in with The Deadman the following night on Raw.
Cena has been a part-time superstar for WWE now for the past few years since he has so many projects outside of the ring that he’s unable to continue to wrestle full-time.
The former 16-time World Champion was recently revealed as the newest face to be added to the Fast and Furious franchise, while he also hosts Are You Smarter Than A 5th Grader on a regular basis.
While many legends have already been announced for Raw Reunion tonight including Hulk Hogan, Ric Flair, Stone Cold Steve Austin, Kevin Nash, Scott Hall, and Shawn Michaels, Cena’s status remained up in the air following his comments regarding the show last week.
Cena was asked about the Raw Reunion show as part of an interview with Deco Drive in Florida and gave a vague reply.
“They say it’s going to be one of the biggest RAWs of all time, and it’s certainly memorable. Um…we’ll see?”
According to yesterday’s edition of The Wrestling Observer, both The Rock and John Cena were not expected to be part of tonight’s show, but Post Wrestling recently confirmed that the former World Champion is expected to be in attendance tonight in Tampa, Florida.
It is unknown what part Cena will play in the show since there are a number of legends that the company needs to fit in throughout the broadcast, but this will be the first appearance that Cena has made on WWE TV in almost four months and it could plant some seeds when it comes to his uncertain future in a WWE ring.
