Jaxson Ryker Returns at WWE Main Event Taping

The Forgotten Sons returned to TV on SmackDown on Friday night as part of a new stable with King Corbin while he’s battling The Mysterio family, but there were only two members.

It appears that Steve Cutler and Wesley Blake have been given new roles on the blue brand, but while there were rumors that Jaxson Ryker was set to be released, he appeared last night on Main Event ahead of Raw.

Ryker was seen alongside Elias in what appears to be a complete gimmick change. Reports suggest that he could now be the muscle for Elias, who is undergoing a change of character following his loss to Jeff Hardy last week.

The Wrestling Observer reported that Ryker is set to be released in the next round of budget cuts, but this is something for him to move forward in the meantime.

If Vince McMahon likes the pairing of Ryker and Elias then this could be a new storyline for the two men moving forward.

It’s noted that this is a strange situation and WWE is testing the water with Ryker to see if there is any backlash from the WWE Universe.

This could be why the company has put him on a pre-recorded episode of Main Event which can be pulled before it airs.
