Kairi Sane Set to Be Given New Non-Wrestling Role in WWE

Kairi Sane hasn’t been on WWE TV since she was thrown into the steel steps by Nia Jax and given a bloody injury during their match on Monday Night Raw last month.

Reports suggest that the former Women’s Tag Team Champion has quite a complex contract situation at present, but according to Fightful, Sane could be given a new role in the company.

Sane’s Tag Team partner Asuka is currently the Raw Women’s Champion and Sane is expected to make her return to Japan in the coming weeks. Part of her deal to return to her native country could reportedly include the former NXT star becoming an ambassador for WWE in Japan.

There are reportedly no plans for WWE to expand in Japan while the COVID-19 pandemic is still at the forefront of people’s minds, but the report does interestingly state that these plans were in motion before Sane’s recent injury.

It’s unknown what this role will mean for her in-ring career, or what it will mean as a role in itself, but at present Sane has been kept off WWE TV.

At present, The Empress of Tomorrow is currently busy in the Women’s Championship picture and Sane hasn’t worked on the main roster as a solo star yet.
