The Wednesday Night Wars are currently in full swing since NXT has made the move over to the USA Network and has rivaled AEW Dynamite for the past four weeks. The ratings have been declining week on week for both promotions, with Dynamite getting the better of NXT each time, but it seems that while the product has been solid from NXT, a number of promises following the move haven’t actually been kept.
Reports suggest that many NXT stars believed that they would be given a pay rise following the move over to the USA Network, which is fair considering many stars have gone from performing as part of a four hour slot on a monthly basis to now performing live each week and the length of the show has also doubled.
WWE has also brought in many talents from NXT UK including the current Champion Walter and former Women’s Champion Rhea Ripley, not to mention the fact that the Cruiserweight Championship now has a home on NXT and has been dubbed the NXT Cruiserweight Championship instead.
Casey of Squared Circle Sirens also Tweeted to state that there were a number of frustrated stars in NXT at present because they were given empty promises, some are reportedly so frustrated they are looking for their release.
There seems to be a number of issues down in NXT at present, not to mention the fact that Jordan Myles has created a lot of noise on Social Media following the release of a t-shirt design that he deemed racist.
WWE may have been able to find a way to equal AEW’s Wednesday night threat, but it appears that the company could have caused many more problems for themselves since the promises they made to their developmental division ahead of the switch have not been followed through.
