Many WWE Superstars Expected to Disappear From TV in The Coming Weeks

WWE’s bubble was finally penetrated this week when reports leaked that a developmental talent had tested positive for the virus that has created a global pandemic in recent months.

Many WWE stars have opted to stay at home and protect their families including Roman Reigns and Sami Zayn. Reigns’ Universal Championship reign was scrapped and handed to Braun Strowman at WrestleMania while Zayn was stripped of the Intercontinental Championship after he refused to return to WWE.

While both men have suffered consequences in storylines, they haven’t suffered any kind of personal consequences, which has made that decision more appealing to many members of the roster.

Earlier today, Kevin Owens was another star who opted to go home and skip the upcoming tapings and according to Tom Colohue on Dropkick DiSKussions, many other stars could be following suit.

“As regards to wrestlers, I can say with certainty a number of wrestlers are assessing their current situation. They have seen Sami Zayn and Roman Reigns, even though they may have suffered storyline consequences, they have not suffered personal consequences. Certainly, those options start to look very appealing.”

Colohue noted that there are many stars who are not being used on SmackDown, Raw, or NXT at present, so some of those stars could opt to sit out a few of the upcoming shows, especially if they know that it won’t affect their careers.
