Mike Kanellis only made his debut for WWE back in June 2017 as part of the Money in the Bank pay-per-view alongside his wife, Maria Kanellis. The former Ring of Honor star hasn’t had the best run in WWE over the past two years after being pushed onto 205 Live when he seemingly fell out of favor with Vince McMahon.

Maria Tweeted a few weeks ago to state that the couple’s contracts were up soon and then teased an exit which could mean that the couple is looking to head back to Impact Wrestling or even All Elite Wrestling.

Following last night’s 205 Live show, Mike Kanellis Tweeted what seemed like a tease that he could be leaving WWE now since his contract is expected to have expired.

Mike and Maria Kanellis were signed as a way to have a power couple on the SmackDown Live brand after The Miz and Maryse were moved over to Raw, but Kanellis failed to impress WWE officials within his first few months in the company and was then unable to climb back, which is why he ended up on 205 Live.

Despite being one of the standout stars on 205 Live over the past few months, Kanellis hasn’t been able to shine as part of The Cruiserweight brand even with Maria back by his side.

Maria knew what she was walking back into, but she was forced to take a number of months off when she fell pregnant just a few months after her re-debut.

The couple requested their WWE release a few months ago but it was denied so it is now likely that their contracts have expired and since WWE wasn’t using the couple to their full potential, it makes sense that they would want to get out as soon as possible.
