Mike Tyson’s Entourage on This Week’s AEW Dynamite Was Reportedly Unscripted

This week on AEW Dynamite, “Iron” Mike Tyson and Chris Jericho had a heated verbal confrontation that quickly turned into a physical affair – Tyson’s posse brawled with The Inner Circle before getting pulled apart by the roster and crew members.

On Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer reported that AEW had no idea that Tyson would bring such a large entourage with him. It wasn’t part of the script but Tyson’s unique idea did help in giving the closing segment a gritty, legitimate feel.

“I was told by people there that nobody knew Tyson was going to come out with that many guys and he came with his whole posse including this fella named Gooch. He had no idea where he was at or what he was doing. He had face paint on, I don’t even know why which just consisted of black rings around his eyes so as far as I know if might not have been face paint. He’s out there and the whole idea is trying to get over the idea of Mike Tyson and Chris Jericho jaw jacking and then having a pull apart.”

Tyson’s entourage comprised of a man named Gooch. Meltzer noted that Gooch, who caught attention with his weird face paint, wasn’t planned for the segment. That particular individual had no idea of what he was doing and nobody knew that would be working the segment either.

“This Gooch dude is totally trying to steal the show. Unfortunately I can’t take my eyes off the guy and between him and Mike Tyson being so wacky — I mean it was like, it was a circus, but the positive I have to say is I couldn’t take my eyes off it for one second.”

AEW taped next week’s show yesterday and it’s possible that Tyson and his entourage were part of it.
