A couple of segments that were set to air on this week’s episode of SmackDown were reportedly re-shot for the broadcast.
This week’s episode of SmackDown, the last one for 2020, was pre-taped last Tuesday in the Thunderdome in front of a virtual audience.
The episode featured a match between Daniel Bryan and Jey Uso and, according to Fightful Select, a portion of that match needed to be re-shot before the episode was broadcast.
Supposedly, the re-shoot was done in order to add a bit more drama to the matchup. Bryan was instructed to sell Jey Uso’s attack a little more.
WWE attempted to mask the fact that it was a reshoot by putting the virtual audience in the ThunderDome on commercial break while that particular portion of the match was being re-shot.
Another re-shot also reportedly took place during a segment with Sasha Banks. Banks, who is the current WWE SmackDown Women’s Champion had accidentally dropped her SmackDown title during her entrance.
Banks had been heading down to participate in a three-way tag team elimination match for the Women’s Tag Team Championships when she dropped her SmackDown Women’s Title.
The minor botch was witnessed by the virtual audience and another participant in the match, Banks’ former tag team partner Bayley, who laughed at her former friend.
