Mustafa Ali was revealed as the leader of Retribution a few months ago, but that hasn’t gone too well as far as his booking is concerned.
The group continues to make more impact on social media than in the ring, and Ali has expressed his displeasure regarding WWE’s current state on multiple occasions.
One of his recent promos included a line, which highlighted WWE putting in piped crowd noise during the shows at the Thunderdome.
However, this has apparently not gone well with the backstage personnel, according to Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select.
“I had heard that there was someone who took exception to him making light that they pipe in stuff… I asked about this, I was like, ‘What would anyone be mad at?’ And they’re like, ‘Well he said that they piped in noise.’ I said, ‘They do!’ And this person said, ‘Yeah, but we don’t want them going out there and saying that.’ I’m like, ‘Why not? It’s obvious. It’s okay. Baseball does it. Football does it. Basketball does it. Don’t treat us like we’re stupid!’”
Ali has been on quite a roll since his promo after the Legends Night last week, which turned quite a few heads in the Internet Wrestling Community.
Ali joked that WWE will never give him a microphone again, but if the rumors of his backstage heat are true, it might very well become a reality.
