Mustafa Ali will be making his long-awaited return to WWE programming this week, as per the latest report by RingsideNews. Ali, who has been out of action on WWE programming since December, was present at the latest set of tapings for RAW and Smackdown.
Ali wrestled a few dark matches and live-events before he was completely removed from the shows in February. Despite Ali being fit for an in-ring return, he was taken off the events, possibly for a character change.
Ali last wrestled in a tag-team with Shorty G on SmackDown and featured in several big segments throughout the year. It is worth noting that Shorty G hasn’t been featured much either since the turn of the year.
There were rumors of Mustafa Ali playing the mystery hacker on SmackDown. WWE teased a superstar as the hacker for several months, before inexplicably dropping off the storyline from their programming altogether.
It was reported that Ali was set to be revealed as the hacker, but the plans were dropped after Ali was moved to RAW.
Ali reportedly asked for a move to the red brand in order to work with Paul Heyman, but that didn’t work out as Heyman was fired quite recently. Ali was then once again moved back to Friday nights.
It is unclear on which show he will be making his return, but it will be fantastic to see a highly talented star in Ali join the roster once again.
