Undefeated heavyweight boxing icon Tyson Fury will be facing WWE Superstar Braun Strowman in two weeks at the Crown Jewel pay-per-view in Saudi Arabia. As previously reported, Fury is set to receive a mammoth $15 million paycheck for his WWE debut at Crown Jewel. However, that’s not the case anymore it seems.
According to Brad Shepard, The Gypsy King is definitely making a bank but it’s nowhere near $15 million.
Fury’s embellished $15 million payday falls in line with the initially reported $20 million that Floyd Mayweather was to receive for his match against The Big Show at WrestleMania 24. Money took home only $2 million as revealed by Dave Meltzer later on.
Fury is the favorite to emerge as the victor at Crown Jewel which shouldn’t be much of a surprise.
Meanwhile, WWE is planning a return for former Universal Champion Sheamus.
The Celtic Warrior was suffering from spinal stenosis leading WWE to write him off post-WrestleMania 35. During the break, Sheamus continued to work on himself and is in great shape at present.
Brad Shepard reports that Sheamus could be making his big WWE return as early as next week.
The 5-time WWE Tag Team Champion wasn’t in the 2019 Draft pool which makes it interesting to see which brand he will choose to sign with once he’s back on TV. Sheamus has equal opportunities on both RAW and SmackDown courtesy of his veteran status in the company, and a babyface singles run would suit him more this time around.
