NXT made their debut at a main roster pay-per-view back at Survivor Series last month, where they were able to win the battle for brand dominance, which has definitely opened the door to more cameos from Triple H‘s black and gold brand.

NXT has been storming through the ratings on Wednesday nights recently, and according to a recent report by WrestleVotes, the brand will be part of WrestleMania weekend in Tampa Bay, Florida, next year for the first time and not just as part of Takeover the night before.

NXT superstars are yet to be granted the opportunity to defend their Championships on main roster pay-per-views, but since the likes of Kevin Owens, Finn Balor and even Lio Rush have made their way down to Full Sail University in recent months and have shown that they are so much more than a developmental brand. This could also be one of the main reasons why there haven’t been many promotions to the main roster over the past few months.

There are a number of stars who have pushed NXT forward out of the shadows as of late, much like Tommaso Ciampa, who had openly stated that he would retire if he was ever promoted to the main roster. This shows just how strongly many current stars feel about the brand, which could be why WWE officials have decided that it’s time to involve NXT in the biggest event of the year.

It’s unknown what this will mean for Takeover which will take place a few days prior to the biggest show of the year, but it could mean that many stars are once again forced to pull double duty, much like when the black and gold brand were given the chance to be part of Survivor Series weekend last month.
