NXT Takeover: 31 Main Event Reportedly Ended Early Due to Injury

WWE presented NXT Takeover 31 from the brand new Capitol Wrestling Center, featuring Finn Balor and Kyle O’Reilly of the Undisputed Era in the main event.

Balor managed to capture a hard-fought victory, which left his opponent bleeding in the ring. This was O’Reilly’s first-ever NXT title match, having claimed several accolades in the tag division.

Despite the match being near-perfect, it apparently ended early due to Balor suffering a jaw injury, according to Wrestling Observer Newsletter.

WWE confirmed that both the superstars suffered injuries during the gruesome battle, but seems like Balor’s injury is more serious than previously thought.

It is unclear how many minutes were scrapped off due to Balor’s injury, but the finish definitely came ahead of time.

Previous NXT Champion, Karrion Kross, had to vacate his title right after his victory at Takeover XXX, due to a shoulder injury he suffered during the matchup.

Balor had to previously vacate his Universal Title due to injury, and if this one turns out to be serious, we could see another relinquishing segment on Wednesday.
