Paul Heyman High On Akira Tozawa, WWE Bans The Term ‘Non-Title’, Money In The Bank Winner Spoiled?

Paul Heyman has revived the career of several Superstars since being appointed as the Executive Director of Monday Night RAW. A lot of talents have largely benefitted and achieved new heights, thanks to Heyman’s hunger to build new stars consistently.

This week on RAW, Akira Tozawa featured as one of the participants in the Last Chance Gauntlet Match. The former Cruiserweight Champion was eliminated quickly, but he still got a major opportunity to showcase his skills on the show. While the brief on-screen time doesn’t seem to benefit him much, there’s a reason why he keeps appearing on the flagship in smaller roles.

On Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer reported that Heyman is a fan of Tozawa which explains why the Japanese star gets to enjoy on-screen time on RAW.

Tozawa is also one of the contestants in the NXT Cruiserweight Title Tournament. It remains to be seen if his smaller roles will result in a major push down the line.

Besides Tozawa, there was another thing that caught fans’ attention last night on RAW. Reigning Tag Team Champions The Street Profits lost to The Viking Raiders, and the WWE Universe was under the assumption that Erik and Ivar had dethroned Montez Ford and Angelo Dawkins. However, that wasn’t the case.

According to Meltzer, WWE is currently building towards a RAW Tag Team Championship defense. The match wasn’t booked for last night, but at the same time, the announcers were barred from using the word “non-title” match.

“There is a word that you’re not supposed to use the word ‘non-title,’ right? Because that’s one of the forbidden words.”

“They don’t have a term, they just have to wait until it’s over.”

WWE’s upcoming pay-per-view, Money In The Bank, takes place this Sunday at their Headquarters in Stamford, Connecticut. The company has already filmed the matches and is now in the editing process.

Last night on RAW, it was advertised that Becky Lynch will be returning to the red brand to confront the Money In The Bank winner. Meltzer noted that WWE might have spoiled the winner of the women’s ladder match – whoever wins is definitely going to be a RAW Superstar.

Asuka, Shayna Baszler, and Nia Jax are the three participants from the RAW side, and rumors suggest that this year’s winner could either be The Facebreaker or The Queen Of Spades.
