Buddy Murphy and Seth Rollins were crowned the <a href="https://api.wrestlingworld.co/news/wwe-raw-new-raw-tag-team-champions-crowned-seth-rollins-declares-himself-for-the-royal-rumble/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener" aria-label="new tag team champions (opens in a new tab)">new tag team champions</a> this week on RAW. The WWE Universe didn’t see this coming, but Murphy suddenly teaming up with the Monday Night Messiah is all part of the bigger picture.



On <a rel="noreferrer noopener" aria-label="Wrestling Observer Radio (opens in a new tab)" href="http://f4wonline.com/" target="_blank">Wrestling Observer Radio</a>, Dave Meltzer reported that Paul Heyman is heavily pushing certain Superstars and all of them are going to benefit under the RAW Executive Director’s wing.



<blockquote class="wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow">“I think the idea is — Paul Heyman is really high on Buddy Murphy — and having him in a tag team with Rollins I think that the idea — the idea is you can watch this thing evolve and it’s pretty clear. I mean Ricochet, Drew McIntyre, Humberto Carrillo, Andrade, and you know Aleister Black and Buddy Murphy are his guys, his projects.”</blockquote>



<blockquote class="wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow">“So, I mean that’s been the whole theme of the television show. I mean it’s always to get people over, but those are guys who are really being earmarked to get over.”</blockquote>



It appears that Heyman pushing the aforementioned talents has opened up possibilities for adding some new flavors to the ongoing main event storyline between Rollins’ heel faction and Kevin Owens&#8211;Samoa Joe’s babyface forces.

Now that Rey lost the ladder match [to Andrade] that Rey will be in there with them Samoa Joe and Kevin Owens against the AOP and Seth. Now if Buddy Murphy is in there they can add Aleister Black in there because they had an actual program and that kinda gets new guys in sort of like a main event program.”</blockquote>



While a 4 vs 4 showdown will definitely be a huge booking for the upcoming Saudi Arabian PPV next month, it remains to be seen whether WWE ends up postponing the 8-man brawl till WrestleMania 36.
