This past week on Raw, Brock Lesnar promised that he would be cashing in his Money in the Bank contract as part of Super ShowDown later today. It was unknown who Lesnar would be cashing in on, but it appears that the former Universal Champion could be looking to cash in on Seth Rollins once again since the Universal Championship match is now set to open the show much like at WrestleMania.
According to a report by WrestleVotes, Rollins is expected to retain his Universal Championship in his scheduled match against Baron Corbin, before Lesnar makes his way to the ring and cashes in his contract unsuccessfully.
What is known at present is that the match will be lost via disqualification, which could mean interference from one of the stars that The Beast Incarnate has managed to anger in recent weeks.
This does feel like it would be a waste of a Money in the Bank contract since it’s another failed cash in and the WWE Universe were promised that the company would take this year’s winner seriously, but it could lead to a much bigger storyline for Lesnar heading into SummerSlam.
Hopefully the disqualification is made via interference from someone like Matt Riddle who has taken shots at a number of superstars over the past few weeks and is expected to be in Saudi Arabia for the 50-man Battle Royal.
This would allow Rollins to move forward back into a feud with AJ Styles ahead of the Biggest Party of the Summer, while Lesnar has someone new to focus on that would keep him away from the title picture.
Of course, this also means that WWE Champion Kofi Kingston is safe and Lesnar won’t be able to cash in and spoil his match with Dolph Ziggler later in the night.
