Drew McIntyre announced last night on RAW that he was going to be challenging Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania for the WWE Championship after his epic Rumble win on Sunday night.
Later in the show, Charlotte Flair was given the opportunity to announce who she would be going after following her victory in the Women’s Royal Rumble, but The Queen decided to keep the WWE Universe guessing and it appears that there is a good reason for this.
Since many fans have been outspoken about the fact that Charlotte has already had lengthy feuds with Bayley and Becky Lynch, WWE could be looking outside of the box on this one since The Queen is listed to be part of this week’s episode of NXT.
According to a report by PWInsider, Charlotte is expected to be in Orlando for NXT and it’s thought that this could lead to the 10-time Women’s Champion challenging Rhea Ripley at WrestleMania.
This would be the first time that the NXT Women’s Championship has been defended at WrestleMania and it would give Triple H’s brand the boost that it needs to reach the levels of the company’s main roster.
Over the past few months, AEW has beaten NXT quite convincingly in the ratings, with NXT only being able to win the ratings race a few times since October. This could be why WWE has been searching for ways for NXT to be added to main roster shows and why the NXT Women’s Division had such a huge presence in the Women’s Royal Rumble.
There have been rumors that WWE has been thinking of allowing Charlotte to challenge Rhea Ripley over the past few weeks, but reports that The Queen will be in Orlando for this week’s NXT seem to further prove that she has some interesting plans for WrestleMania.
