Randy Orton Reportedly Could Walk Out as WWE Champion at SummerSlam

Drew McIntyre defends his WWE Championship against Randy Orton next weekend at SummerSlam. While McIntyre has had a fantastic run as Champion and has reigned his division throughout a time of uncertainty in WWE, it may be time for the title to change hands.

WrestlingNews.co reports that there are currently backstage plans for The Viper to be walking out of The Biggest Party of the Summer with the WWE Championship.

Orton is on fire on WWE TV at present and has taken out the likes of Edge, Christian, The Big Show, and even Ric Flair in recent weeks as The Legend Killer begins to rear his head once again.

The report goes on to state that if Orton is able to dethrone the Scottish star then he will be doing it alone since Ric Flair isn’t expected to return to WWE.

The two-time WWE Hall of Famer delivered an emotional promo on Monday Night Raw before he was low-blowed and punt kicked by The Viper. This is the last that the WWE Universe will see of The Nature Boy for a while.

A win for Orton on August 23rd would make him a 13-time World Champion and would begin a new era under the reign of the Apex Predator.
