Randy Orton was most recently seen as part of Team Flair at Crown Jewel, where his team came up short, but it appears that this wasn’t the faction that Orton won’t be too downhearted since this isn’t the team that he really wanted to be a part of.

Earlier in the year, Randy Orton teamed up with The Revival as part of his feud with Kofi Kingston and in order to even the numbers against The New Day. Orton obviously enjoyed working with the Top Guys, since according to a report by Fightful’s Sean Ross Sapp on Select, he asked to be put into a faction with Scott Dawson and Dash Wilder, but this idea was shot down.

“We’re told by multiple sources that Orton pushed to do more work with them [The Revival], even going as far as pitching a faction to Vince McMahon personally. The idea fell on deaf ears and Orton and the Revival were put on different brands in the WWE draft,” he said via Sportskeeda.

This isn’t the first time it’s been made clear that Orton wanted to work with The Revival, since the three stars have dropped a number of hints on Social Media, and even teased moving to AEW so that they can then have the chance to work together after it was revealed that the three stars would be on separate brands following this year’s draft.

Orton has been in factions before, most recently as part of Legacy when he teamed with Cody Rhodes and Ted DiBiase. It was obvious that The Revival and Orton had a lot of chemistry when working together and are good friends outside of the company, so it’s unknown why they were drafted to different brands and why McMahon seemingly ignored the idea of putting them together.
