Real Reason Why Randy Orton Lost the WWE Championship to Drew McIntyre on Raw

On this week’s Monday Night Raw, Randy Orton faced Drew McIntyre to defend his WWE Championship. Right before the match, Sheamus gave McIntyre a kilt and a sword as he wanted to inspire Drew before his match against The Viper, and it worked.

The Scottish Psychopath defeated Orton to become the new WWE Champion. A few weeks ago, Randy defeated Drew for the title at the Hell in a Cell pay-per-view.

Previously, Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter reported that the reason why Orton won the title is that he had lost many matches against McIntyre and WWE wanted him to break his losing streak.

Recently, Meltzer talked more about McIntyre vs Orton and revealed a prime reason why The Apex Predator lost his WWE Championship before Survivor Series.

”It’s more interesting, not just because you have a face vs. heel dynamic, but the belief was Reigns would beat Orton, while with McIntyre, you have the two most protected guys on the roster facing each other. Of course, with no title at stake and a high chance of interference, the result isn’t all that important.”

Drew McIntyre has had the best year of his life so far. He won the Royal Rumble earlier this year, then defeated Lesnar at WrestleMania and now he is going to face Roman Reigns at Survivor Series.

The match will probably end with an outside interference but the fact that the two will face each other makes it a must-watch.
