Reason Why Roman Reigns and Lars Sullivan Were Missing From SmackDown Opening Segment Last Week

The 2020 WWE Draft saw several Superstars switch brands while some tag teams split up as well.

The refreshed RAW and SmackDown rosters seem well balanced and the WWE Universe eagerly awaits fresh storylines and new flavors in the weekly programming.

Last week’s episode of Friday Night SmackDown was opened by Triple H and Stephanie McMahon. The entire SmackDown roster stood on the stage to usher in a new era. However, two big men, namely, Universal Champion Roman Reigns and the returning Lars Sullivan were missing from the group.

Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports that WWE “protected” Reigns and Sullivan by not having them appear on the stage with the rest of the Superstars.

The move, as strange as it may sound, saved the two men from looking like “fourth graders going to assembly.”

“The show opened with HHH & Stephanie in the ring and most of the talent (a few like Reigns and Lars Sullivan were protected from looking like the fourth graders going to assembly) was on the stage.”
