In recent weeks, Sasha Banks hasn’t been featured as prominently as SmackDown Women’s Champion Bayley. The WWE Universe is under the impression that The Boss has now become The Hugger’s shadow on Friday Night SmackDown and it’s the case of the creative burying yet another prime-time Superstar.
Banks’ recent injury has reportedly led to WWE pulling her from planned matches. However, it seems that the injury isn’t legitimate; in fact, it’s all part of Lacey Evans’ babyface title push.
Cagesideseats reports that WWE has been taking Banks out of matches with Evans in order to pave way for the latter’s title shot against Bayley at Royal Rumble.
“The word is that Sasha Banks is not injured and she’s just been getting taken out of planned matches with Lacey Evans to build to Evans’ title shot against Bayley.“
This could also be the beginning of a slow build towards the highly-anticipated Bayley vs. Banks showdown at the Showcase of Immortals on April 5th.
Rumors suggest that The Boss could potentially win the Women’s Rumble match to earn her shot at The Hugger’s title at WrestleMania 36. The two women have been enjoying a blissful alliance since September and it’s about time WWE splits them up and books them in separate directions post-WrestleMania.
Lars Sullivan wrestled his last match in June 2019 before being sidelined with an injury. The Freak isn’t expected to return before WrestleMania, meaning he could miss the grandest annual WWE pay-per-view for the second year in a row.
Fightful Select reports that WWE originally expected Sullivan to miss a full year, but the big man was under the belief that he would be back in a much shorter timeframe.
“Lars Sullivan‘s knee recovery started to recover a lot slower than anticipated. WWE always had him marked down to miss a full year, but he was of the belief he’d be back sooner, having recovered from a knee injury prior.”
